nLogic is hiring a Model Based Systems Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
In this role, you will contribute to a long‑standing national security mission supporting a critical element of a major U.S. defense agency’s layered defense architecture. You’ll develop systems engineering products that enable the design and evolution of a large‑scale, ground‑based defensive capability used to help protect the United States.
The selected candidate will work within a Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) product line under an Architecture & Delivery Integrated Product Team. This environment is fast‑paced, collaborative, and includes team members with a wide range of experience levels.
Required Qualifications:
An active, in-scope Secret Security Clearance is required for this position
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, with progressively responsible experience in systems engineering (typically 5+ years at mid‑level to 8+ years at senior level)
Advanced understanding of systems engineering principles, processes, and lifecycle concepts
Hands‑on experience with requirements decomposition, requirements management, and traceability (e.g., DOORS)
Experience supporting requirement verification through test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration
Ability to plan work independently, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and engage with customers or stakeholders
Ability to work on-site in an office environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with requirement verification methods such as test execution or analysis
Familiarity with complex ground-based defense systems
Demonstrated ability in independent planning, organization, and working across functional teams
Understanding of the Systems Engineering V‑Model
Exposure to MBSE tools and practices
Experience with Agile development approaches
INCOSE or Systems Engineering certification.
