The nLogic team is seeking a Supply Engineer to support mechanical and electro‑mechanical hardware procurement for complex, mission‑critical defense systems. This role serves as a technical liaison between internal engineering teams and external suppliers, ensuring that supplier‑provided hardware meets strict requirements for quality, performance, cost, and manufacturability.
The Supply Engineer will analyze and interpret engineering requirements, evaluate supplier capabilities, resolve production issues, and support both new development and sustainment activities. This includes procuring replacement or repair parts and identifying solutions to mitigate system obsolescence.
This is a technical, hands‑on engineering role that blends mechanical engineering expertise with supplier engagement and production support.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and evaluate supplier designs, drawings, schematics, and manufacturing processes for compliance with engineering specifications and system requirements.
Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program leadership) and external suppliers.
Translate engineering requirements into supplier‑facing technical deliverables.
Apply mechanical engineering principles to assess hardware producibility, manufacturing feasibility, and product quality.
Conduct investigations into non‑conformances and lead root‑cause analysis efforts.
Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
Perform technical evaluations of supplier quotes, capabilities, and production readiness.
Support sourcing decisions, market research, technical risk assessments, and supplier capability reviews.
Participate in supplier qualification activities, design reviews, production readiness evaluations, and audits.
Support sustainment activities, including procurement of replacement/repair parts and addressing obsolescence issues.
Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance aligned with program needs.
Travel to supplier facilities and company sites as required.
Required Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret clearance at time of application.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
Professional experience working with mechanical or electro‑mechanical hardware, manufacturing processes, or supplier‑facing engineering roles.
Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
General understanding of mechanical and/or electro‑mechanical systems.
Experience resolving technical issues during design, production, or testing stages.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and supplier teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree specifically in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience working directly with suppliers on capability assessments, qualification activities, or production troubleshooting.
Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems and familiarity with FAR/DFARS.
Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Experience conducting root‑cause analysis or assessing manufacturability of mechanical components.
